Though he may get criticism for his on-court altercations, Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green excels at mediating disputes between his children. Two of the star’s kids, Cash and Draymond Jr., disrupted a recent press conference, putting his parenting prowess on full show.
“Draymond hit me with the ball,” Cash, the NBA champion’s daughter, said in a cute little voice as she approached the platform. Beginning, “Hey, my love,” Green took a moment to pick up and embrace his daughter, confirming her words, but his son cut him short, claiming he did it because Cash shoved him.
The 34-year-old Green advised the two to give their sister “a real hug,” emphasizing that his namesake should do so. After exchanging hugs, Green resumed conducting his interviews with the children.
We have seen many touching moments between Green and his children on the podium before, including this one. When giving interviews, the Golden State Warriors player frequently brings them along. His children have previously accompanied him for similar post-game press conferences, having done so following Golden State’s 127-100 victory over the Lakers at the Chase Center in May 2023.
“We miss so much time with our children,” said Green. “It’s not just us basketball players, I believe; you have a duty to support your child.” Born and reared in Saginaw, Michigan, Green expressed, “I never want them to go through what I went through growing up.”
That implies a great deal of work. It hurts to miss those times. Any parent in this room, I believe, is aware of it. It’s amazing to be able to share these times with them. I’m going to revisit a few of these photos. and you simply value them a great deal. I’m always grateful for the NBA and the Warriors organization,” Green said, giving both of the kids a playful hug.
Green and Hazel Renee were joined in marriage in the autumn of 2022, and their mixed family now consists of four children. Together, the pair has two daughters: Cash Green and a new one they welcomed in 2023. In addition, Renee has a daughter named Olive Jay from a previous relationship, while the NBA player has Draymond Jr. from a previous relationship.
