T-Pain, Jelly Roll Honor Toby Keith at Stagecoach 2024 with Iconic Song

Jelly Roll and T-Pain performed "Should've Been a Cowboy." at the 2024 Stagecoach Festival in memory of Toby Keith.

On Friday, 39-year-old musician Jelly Roll, known for "Need a Favor," performed in Indio, California, honoring Keith's musical legacy and recognizing his effect on artists across genres.

The homage was touching because Toby Keith died at 62 from stomach cancer in February

Jelly Roll and T-Pain published their cover exclusively on Amazon Music, aligning it with Keith's real sound and meaningful lyrics.

Jelly Roll said to Variety that Keith's "Should've Been a Cowboy" motivated his move from rap to country music.

"He was unapologetically Oklahoma, a real trailblazer in the music industry," Jelly Roll said of Keith.

Keith, a distant mentor, inspired him with his individualism and dedication.

Jelly Roll invited T-Pain as a surprise appearance to enhance the homage and surprise fans.
