Hugo Spritz: Italy's Summer in Glass

Ingredients: 3 ounces chilled Prosecco, 2 ounces Elderflower Syrup, 1 ounce chilled sparkling water, 3 torn mint leaves, 1 mint sprig for garnish, 2 lime wheels, and ice cubes.

The first step is to carefully open the Prosecco bottle. Before popping the cork, make sure the bottle is away from your eyes and any lighting fixtures!

But, actually, it's better to open the bottle with two hands, twisting the cork and gently removing it from the top.

Pro tip: Keep the bottle upright as well.  Add a lime wheel and a few shredded fresh mint leaves to a wine glass.

Muddle the lime wheel and mint leaves with the bottom of a bar spoon.  Next, fill the glass with ice cubes.

Measure the elderflower syrup and Prosecco. Pour each into the wine glass as soon as you measure it.

While you don't need a shaker or mixing glass to make a Hugo Spritz at home, we recommend a Japanese Jigger for precise proportions and simple pouring.

Gently stir.  Add a dash of sparkling water (about one ounce) and garnish with a mint sprig and lime wheel.  Begin sipping immediately.
