Randy Travis Inducted Into Louisiana Music Hall of Fame

The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame has inducted Randy Travis (LMHOF).

The legendary country singer was bestowed with the esteemed title during a Denham Springs event on May 27, 2023 Cajun Country Jam Memorial Day.

Travis began his career in Louisiana after signing with the Shreveport-based Paula Records, despite the fact that he was born and reared in North Carolina and went on to have a prosperous career in country music in Nashville.

Under the stage name Randy Traywick, he put out two songs that didn't chart: "Dreamin'" and "She's My Woman."

Storms of Life, his breakthrough debut album, was released in 1986 when he later signed with Warner Bros. Records.

Cajun Country Jam Promoter Scott Innes stated at the event, per a news release, "Randy Travis has made many stops and new fans along the way in the great state of Louisiana over the years." "Having Randy on our stage made us happy and honored!"

"The mission of LMHOF is to establish a sustainable music industry for the State of Louisiana, with a focus on educating and enlightening the public about the remarkable musical contributions and legacy of LA's artists, writers, musicians, and industry professionals who have given birth to and grown Louisiana's music," the organization's website states.

"And to honor our musicians and music as a foundation for constructing a sustainable, contemporary music industry in Louisiana."
