A legal expert claims that Donald Trump has a “weird confessional tell” that indicates he is starting to commit crimes.
Former assistant attorney general for New York and attorney Tristan Snell asserted that the fact that Trump signs his own checks shows he is acting “wrong.”

Following testimony on Monday from two current and former Trump Organization workers regarding how Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen was reimbursed for the $130,000 he paid adult film star Stormy Daniels, Snell made the comments. The testimony was given in the wake of the hush money trial.

The jury was shown some of the numerous checks that Trump personally signed in 2017 to reimburse the lawyer. This was disclosed to the court.

In connection with the hush money he arranged for Cohen to pay adult film star Daniels to conceal an alleged affair she had with Trump in the lead-up to the 2016 election, Trump has entered a not guilty plea to 34 felony charges of falsifying business records. According to Trump’s corporate documents, the funds were declared as “legal fees,” which prosecutors claim was a part of a criminal effort to sway the results of the 2016 presidential contest.

While sharing photos of Trump’s signatures on X, formerly Twitter, Snell wrote: “Donald Trump seems to have a weird confessional tell—he signs checks personally, precisely when he knows he’s doing something wrong.”He signed the payments to Michael Cohen himself. Just like he personally signed the checks he wrote to himself in the Trump University scam.”

The district attorney claims that Cohen was reimbursed $130,000 for a $130,000 hush agreement that the adult film star Stormy Daniels signed with Trump’s approval to keep her quiet about an alleged affair prior to the election. In the course of paying Cohen back, Trump is charged with 34 counts of falsifying company documents as part of a larger claimed plot to suppress criticism and sway the election.

In addition to practicing law, Snell is the author of the book Taking Down Trump: 12 Rules for Prosecuting Donald Trump by Someone Who Successfully Completed It. The book describes how New York prosecutors persuaded the former president to pay $25 million to resolve several lawsuits alleging that Trump University had deceived students.

The plaintiffs argued that the Trump University courses were deceptive since they purported to give students Trump’s advice on entrepreneurship and real estate success. Some students paid up to $35,000 for instruction from professionals that Trump seemed to personally choose.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman declared that the $25 million settlement of various cases against Trump in November 2016, just days after he had won the election, was a “major victory for the over 6,000 victims of his fraudulent university.”
