A potential confrontation between former US president Donald Trump and former US First Lady Michelle Obama could result from recent reports in US media that she may run for president in 2024. Following Cindy Adams’ New York Post editorial and longtime Trump advisor Roger J. Stone Jr.’s prediction of the same, conjecture has run wild.
“I continue to predict — as I have for well over two years — that Michelle Obama will be the Democrat Party Nominee for President in 2024,” longtime Trump advisor Roger J. Stone Jr. wrote on social media one week prior to the Iowa caucuses.
Joe Biden, the current US president, is cast out by Adams as the next possible president due to his alleged unwillingness to engage in argument and dispute the delivery of pre-prepared scripts.
She asserts in her piece that Biden “won’t argue. Not able to. Even the prewritten script in front of our chief executive is too slow for him to read aloud. Therefore, let him go—as most of us have already.”
Adams cited Michelle Obama’s podcast interview wherein she voiced concern over the results of the 2024 election, which gave credence to the rumors.
The author notes that Obama has issued a poll to Democratic Party leaders to gauge their support for her possible candidacy, indicating that her concerns were not just a casual comment but a calculated maneuver.
According to the New York Post, Michelle Obama allegedly told well-known hedge fund CEOs in NYC during a meeting held more than a year ago in the summer of 2022, “I am running, and I am asking for your support.”
According to Adams, this indicates that the Obamas are quietly pressuring Joe Biden to resign.
“Obama’s quietly angling for Joe to go,” she says. He’s been coaxing this out for a few weeks. No words are being spoken. However, lips are aware.”
Megyn Kelly, a former political analyst and Fox News presenter, also commented on the rumor that Michelle Obama is a more gifted politician than Joe Biden.
Kelly doesn’t think the former first lady would run for office, but she does take a cue from Obama’s most recent podcast appearance, saying, “She has nothing to promote.” She called them and said, “I have something to say,” since she doesn’t have a book or an event.
Political watchers are waiting for Michelle Obama to make any formal declaration about her plans to run for president in 2024.
