Hunter Schafers Stylist On the Stars Theatrical Press Tour

Hunter Schafer is a red carpet slay once again. The actor has been killing it on step and repeats this month, showcasing her new movie The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes with outrageous, creative ensembles that are a blast to watch. (Here are a few of her best looks.) Schafer maintained her reign of style last night in New York City by dressing in a floral dress from Francesco Risso’s spring 2024 collection for Marni.

Schafer has been collaborating on all of her ensembles with stylist Dara Allen, and together they have decided to embrace fashion fantasy throughout the tour, viewing each look as an opportunity to convey a narrative. “We’ve been having a great time,” Allen says . “Hunter and I wanted to push the boundaries of fashion on the red carpet while experimenting with the inventiveness and inventiveness of her character, Tigris. As someone who works in editorial styling, I approached this tour as though it were a live, breathing fashion narrative that was influenced by the movies and her persona.

“This Marni dress is really special. It looks like it’s covered in stickers and is growing a bouquet of wire and foil flowers,” says Allen. “I love that, while it has all this unhinged decoration, the silhouette underneath is super simple and sweet. It’s been important for us to balance pulling a stunt with a chic effortlessness.” Allen also noted that the Marni creation was shorter and sweeter than the previous looks Schafer has worn, like her silver Alexander McQueen look just earlier this week.

“To finish the tour with something that felt more lighthearted and fun felt good, especially for a smaller screening like New York,” says Allen. “We adored the final premiere’s wink towards Effie Trinket and the Capitol’s iconic appearance from the original films.”

The actor beamingly greeted Allen when he first put the Marni dress on Schafer. “As soon as I pulled the zipper up, it was undeniable: Hunter immediately lit up and got so excited,” says Allen. “Once we had her dressed in New York with the full hair and makeup, she kept bouncing around making the metal flowers clink together.” Despite our personal sadness that Schafer and Allen’s fashion serves are coming to an end—for now—the duo wrapped up their whirlwind press tour on a positive note.
