Rediscovery is Angelina Jolie’s current journey.

The actress and humanitarian said that her soon-to-be debut fashion collective, Atelier Jolie, has assisted in her recovery in a cover story for Vogue that was published on Wednesday.

I’ve been feeling depressed lately. In a way, which I don’t want to get into, I don’t feel like I’ve been myself for ten years,” she remarked in the interview. “I think part of this has also been therapeutic for me — to work in a creative space with people you trust and to rediscover yourself.”

Jolie also discussed the sources of inspiration for her Atelier Jolie creations.

“I want a woman to have enough confidence to be vulnerable. A therapist had asked me to try wearing a flowing garment after I had experienced some hurt. It may sound petty, but I thought that wearing pants and boots gave off a stronger, “tougher” vibe. Was I, however, strong enough to be tender? Not at that moment. I felt exposed,” Jolie remarked.

“At 48, I wonder if it’s because I still don’t know who I am that I don’t know what my style is. I suppose that personally, I’m in transition,” she pondered. “I want to make a lot of changes in my life. And that one facing forward is this one.”

One of these adjustments was stepping back from Hollywood. According to her, Jolie began taking on fewer movie projects seven years ago.

Angelina Jolie and her children are ‘still finding our footing’ amid divorce, custody battle

“We needed to heal from a great deal. She remarked of herself and her six children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, “We’re still finding our footing. (Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, and their minor children’s custody plan is still pending.)

The 18-year-old Zahara Jolie-Pitt and the 19-year-old Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt worked together to create Atelier Jolie, which features designs created from deadstock and leftover vintage materials.

Jolie believes that she was saved by her son and daughter, as well as by her siblings Maddox, Shiloh, and the twins Vivienne and Knox. Jolie stated, “I became a mother when I was 26.” “Everything in my life was altered. Having kids taught me how to live differently in this world and saved my life.”

“I think I would’ve gone under in a much darker way recently if I hadn’t wanted to live for them,” she continued. You want your kids to be better than you, so they’re better than me. Naturally, I am their mother and, ideally, the source of stability and safety for them. However, they also make fun of me, and I see them assuming control of a lot of our family’s activities.”
