There is 'increasing tension' between LeBron James and the Lakers.

LeBron James continues to put pressure on the Los Angeles Lakers' front staff, but they are not giving in, according to NBA insider Brian Windhorst.

Death, taxes, and LeBron James' passive-aggressive tactics and words ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

This has happened every year for the majority of his career, so it comes as no surprise at this point.

Just a few weeks ago, James stated that he 'didn't play fantasy basketball' and would not discuss trades out of respect for his teammates.

After a few loses, he posted an hourglass emoji in a cryptic tweet and declined to elaborate.

He didn't have to, though, since it's not the first time he's done something like this, and it won't be the last time he attempts to put pressure on the Los Angeles Lakers' front staff without actually demanding action.

NBA analyst Brian Windhorst writes that "we're about a '8' on the 'LeBron Passive Aggressive Trade Deadline' time scale." However, it appears like Rob Pelinka is not budging this time:

The Lakers need to make a decision at this time. James has a player option on his deal and may depart as a free agency, but he's also 39 years old, so they might prefer to maintain their assets for the future.
