Los Angeles Rams backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo discusses suspension, new job.

Jimmy Garoppolo, the new backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, officially signed a one-year contract on Tuesday at the team's headquarters after reaching an agreement on Friday.

According to a team source, Garoppolo cleared his physical.

The former starter for the San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders will also serve a two-game suspension to begin the 2024 campaign, although he is still eligible to take part in the team's summer and preseason workouts.

Garoppolo claimed to have "really messed up the T.U.E." (Therapeutic Use Exemption) policy of the NFL.

Players may be granted an exemption for specific prohibited substances.

Garoppolo was suspended due to his violation of the league's rules regarding performance-enhancing chemicals.

He hasn't filed an appeal of the ruling. That was... I'm sorry to make light of it, but when I initially arrived in Las Vegas, I completely screwed up the T.U.E. I suppose that was bad time.

Less than a year after agreeing to a three-year contract, Garoppolo, 32, was let go by the Raiders. Due to injuries, he missed Weeks 4 and 7 of 2023 after starting six games.
