Kelly Clarkson Covers ‘Over the Rainbow,’ a Family Song

Kelly Clarkson ends the week with a classic. The Kelly Clarkson Show's 41-year-old presenter performed Judy Garland's "Over the Rainbow" on Friday with her guitarist Jaco Caraco.

Clarkson slowly recited each song line from The Wizard of Oz in a long-sleeved black dress and silver earrings.

Clarkson sang with a row of dark purple lights behind her, and the audience listened silently. After the song, the lights flashed rainbow hues and the crowd cheered.

On her renowned Kellyoke segment, the Grammy winner covered songs from many genres.

This section has featured Justin Bieber's "Sorry," ABBA's "Dancing Queen," and Aerosmith's "Dream On."

Regarding "Over the Rainbow," Clarkson has a personal connection. She said she sings to her children, River Rose, 9, and Remington "Remy" Alexander, 7, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, on Today in 2017.

In November 2023, Clarkson told PEOPLE that her kids are used to her fame.

It's so typical for them. She claimed they don't find it strange. They ask, 'Can I bring my friend?' 'OK, then, maybe we'll just bring you right now.'" The mother of two teaches them "the gratitude and appreciation factor."

Pink posts a video of a heart on a cloud to remember her late father.
