Katy Perry's Return to "American Idol" Displeases Some Fans: "I Can't"

Viewers had mixed feelings about Katy Perry's role as a judge on the twenty first season  ,

of American Idol. Her elegant appearance and stylish clothing have won her fans on Twitter, 

and her outspoken support for gun regulation has also received praise.However, 

others have compared her to the abrasive former judge Simon Cowell (who presided over ,

the FOX version of the competition from 2002 to 2010, before ABC revived it), 

accusing her of "bullying" or "shaming" some of the participants.Since 2018, 

Perry has been a regular on the program. Recently, ABC revealed that Perry would ,

be returning for American Idol's 22nd season, along with co-stars Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
