Jimmy Garoppolo Explains What Led To Two-Game Suspension

Jimmy Garoppolo, the backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, is headed back to his home state of California.  

However, he will miss a few games as a result of breaking the NFL's ban on performance-enhancing drugs.  

Speaking to the media this week, Garoppolo clarified that he "messed up" the league's therapeutic use exemption for prescription medication during his time with the Las Vegas Raiders,  

the league suspended him for using a prescription drug without a legitimate therapeutic use authorization from the organization.  

Garoppolo stated that he hopes the Rams can win their opening games without him and that they would go with a positive attitude.  

According to ESPN, Garoppolo stated, "Hopefully we'll get some dubs and start off 2-0 and keep things moving." However, it's just one of those circumstances.   

That's just the way things are. You have to accept it, go on, and maintain your optimistic attitude."  

Garoppolo played himself out of a job and was unable to sign on as the starting quarterback anywhere in 2023 after starting the season as the starting quarterback in Las Vegas. He will now play as Matthew Stafford's designated backup for the Rams, where he will have the opportunity to revive his career under one of the league's
