Jets Land Massive $15 Million Weapon for Aaron Rodgers: Report

The New York Jets have recently gained a whole new offensive weapon for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport announced on social media that free agent wide receiver Mike Williams has signed a one-year contract worth up to $15 million with the Green and Whites.

Williams was in the middle of a visit to the Jets when the news broke on Tuesday, March 19. The former Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver was slated to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers this week. However, he never left the Jets' facility.

Connor Rogers of NBC Sports gave Douglas a lot of credit for how he handled the Williams situation during free agency.

"The signing of Mike Williams by the Jets was a rare example of Joe Douglas going above and beyond for a free agent. He did not need to take his next two visits and met his price."

Rogers stated that they will prioritize letting the draft come to them with the 10th overall pick by addressing needs in free agency.

The next major event is the 2024 NFL draft. Gang Green has the No. 10 overall pick in the first round, and for once, there appears to be no glaring need to fill.

Prior to free agency, the Jets had significant needs on the offensive line and wide receiver. JD was able to obtain a brand new starting five in the trenches inside the first few days of the open market.
