Dakota Fanning Is 'Happiest' Since 30: Exclusive: 'Being Grateful for What I Have'

Dakota Fanning contemplates her 3-0! PEOPLE exclusively interviewed the actress at the Ripley premiere in Los Angeles on April 3 about her happiness since turning the milestone in February.

Fanning: “I don't know what it is, it's just like some of the most happiest. I'm doing crazy schedule-wise things and incredibly busy, but I'm fine. Nothing bothers me.”

The Watchers actress tells PEOPLE that the milestone has made her appreciate what she has and less worry about what she hasn't.

"I think I was focusing on being grateful for what I have rather than worrying about what I don't," she adds. "And really just focusing on the present and taking advantage of this time in my life and enjoying every moment,

instead of saying, 'Oh, when's that going to happen, when's that going to happen?'" Fanning says. “Just saying, ‘Oh my God, how exciting that hasn't happened yet,’ and reframing it.”

Fanning, who plays Marge Sherwood in the Netflix thriller, wore Fendi's SS24 Couture Collection white asymmetrical gown to the premiere. She stood with her costar Andrew Scott, who wore a green blazer and jeans.

The series stars Scott, 47, as con man Tom Ripley, recruited by a wealthy father to persuade his son Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn) to return from Italy.

Fanning celebrated her 30th birthday in February in a crimson Fall/Winter 23/24 Dolce & Gabbana dress. She added little red hair bows to the ensemble.

Pink posts a video of a heart on a cloud to remember her late father.
