Bears Bring in Rome Odunze After Visiting With Another Top WR

Even though DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, the Chicago Bears' great combo, will head their receiver room in 2024, they are still evaluating the best receivers in the NFL draft to see if they can secure the ninth overall choice.

As they continue their hectic pre-draft evaluation week at Halas Hall, the Bears are set to host Washington's Rome Odunze for a Top 30 visit on Thursday, April 4, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport posted on X on Wednesday, saying, "Washington WR Rome Odunze, a likely Top 10 pick and one of the Draft's best WRs, visited the #Jets today, source said, and he has the #Bears tomorrow." "He has already had time to spend with the #Giants."

Of the top three receivers in the draft, Odunze is not the first to visit the Bears. Malik Nabers of LSU has reportedly “already been in town” for his Top 30 visit,

according to ESPN's David Kaplan on April 3. This information provides further proof that the Bears are considering selecting a wide receiver with their second first-round selection.

Caleb Williams of USC, who visited Chicago on Wednesday, April 3, is the quarterback that the Bears are most likely to select with the first overall pick in this year's draft.

The most intriguing question is what they will do with the ninth pick, since on their 2024 roster, offensive lineman, edge rusher, and wide receiver are seen to be their three most pressing needs.

The Bears still have three weeks to figure out their priorities for the first night of the draft, but the fact that both Odunze and Nabers have taken visits to Chicago in recent weeks suggests general manager Ryan Poles is open to drafting one in the first round.
