Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth Reveal Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Details at CinemaCon

Before Furiosa starts her engine and sprints onto the big screen, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth give us a preview glance.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, a prequel to 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road, hits theaters May 24. On April 9, at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas, the film's cast revealed new facts, footage, and never-before-seen images.

Taylor-Joy, 27, Hemsworth, 40, and writer-director George Miller, 79, spoke to an ecstatic audience at Caesar's Palace as part of a Warner Bros. presentation.

Miller provided a longer sneak peek filled with blazing glimpses of the Wasteland. The tale of Furiosa appears to be divided into three acts: "I: Her Odyssey Begins," "II: A Warrior Awakens," and "III: Ride Into Vengeance."

According to the official synopsis, the post-apocalyptic epic is a "all-new original, standalone action adventure that will reveal the origins" of Imperator Furiosa,

a role Taylor-Joy took up from Fury Road star Charlize Theron. The film was co-written by the Australian filmmaker and Nico Lathouris.

"Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe," a recurring figure played by Lachy Hulme, who succeeds Hugh Keays-Byrne.

The synopsis goes on to say: "While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home."
