Keep an eye on Vice President Joe Biden as he continues to campaign in South Carolina as the competition for the White House increases in intensity. The news comes after an unmanned drone strike on a military outpost in Jordan resulted in the deaths of three members of the United States Armed Forces and the injuries of over twenty-two more.
Mr. Biden stated that the United States Armed Forces will demand accountability from those guilty “at a time and in a manner of our choosing. “Over the course of the morning on Sunday, January 28, the President of the United States paid a visit to a congregation in South Carolina in an effort to appeal to voters in the state.
In spite of this, Vice President Biden is going to have a difficult time winning the red state of South Carolina because the state has not voted for a Democrat since 1976.
The Democrats are hopeful that the new role of South Carolina as the host of the party’s first official primary, which will take place on February 3, would increase support among African-American voters.
Additionally, high-ranking leaders within the party see it as an opportunity to expand the percentage of voters in the South.
From the time of the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s until the present day, the Democratic Party has had a difficult time winning elections in the South.
