U.S. Cellular and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. have entered into a business partnership for 5G and 4G LTE network solutions. In order to assist U.S. Cellular in providing next-generation service, the new agreement specifies the terms under which U.S. Cellular may acquire commercially proven network solutions from Samsung, including 5G New Radio (NR) technology.
Millions of customers and businesses have already benefited from 4G LTE services provided by U.S. Cellular, the country’s fifth-largest mobile carrier. In order to provide dependable indoor and outdoor service, U.S. Cellular will introduce its 5G network with an emphasis on delivering high standards of customer service, network quality, and performance. Samsung will be in a position to assist U.S. Cellular in developing its 5G network by providing hardware that complies with 3GPP 5G NR requirements.
According to Mike Irizarry, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of U.S. Cellular, “We are excited about the prospect of working with Samsung to extend cutting-edge 4G LTE and 5G technology to our customers, expanding what is possible in consumer experiences and business applications.”
