Taylor Swift Named Apple Music Artist of Year; Morgan Wallen Tops Global Songs Chart.

Taylor Swift has been recognized as the Artist of the Year by Apple Music. This designation comes after she has dominated the charts, embarked on a global tour, and released her very own concert video.

Over the course of the year, the platform revealed its year-end charts, which included the top songs of 2023, the top Shazams, and, for the very first time, the songs that music lovers sung along to the most using Apple Music Sing. At the same time that Swift established a new record for the most listeners for any artist in a single year on Apple Music, she also became the artist that Apple Music subscribers listened to the most. The previous year’s Artist of the Year award went to Bad Bunny. According to a press statement issued by the service, “She saw 65 songs reach Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 in the first ten months of 2023, which is more than any other artist.”

Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” was the first country song to top the chart since “Old Town Road” (2019), and it was the first song to dominate the list of the Top Global Songs on Apple’s website. The number of country songs that attained the top spot on the chart increased from four the previous year to eleven this year. Música Mexicana and Afrobeats are also gaining a significant amount of attention. On the Top 100 2023: Shazam chart, “Calm Down” by Rema is at the top of the list.

Additionally, “Rush” by Ayra Starr and “People” by Libianca are also among the songs that end the year as being among the most Shazamed by people all over the world. This year, for the very first time in history, a total of four songs from the genre of Mexican music have made it onto the list. Among the songs that have made it into the top 20 is “Ella Baila Sola” by Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado, which is ranked at number 18. Additionally, “un x100to” by Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny, which is ranked at number 70.

Apple Music highlighted a number of year-end charts, including the Top Fitness Songs Chart, which is led by the British dance duo Punctual with their song “Do It All Again (featuring Jordan Shaw),” and the Top Songwriters Chart, which is led by Drake, who has more streams than any other songwriter.
