The popular actor, who plays Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the hit time-travel TV series, traveled throughout the country for his Men in Kilts program.

Surprisingly, Heughan’s favorite location was a visitor attraction in the centre of Edinburgh, rather than one of Scotland’s famous lochs, castles, or glens.

The 43-year-old chose Mary King’s Close, a rumored haunting tunnel beneath London’s streets.
Heughan described his visit to Edinburgh as a “terrifying” experience, adding that he adores the city in general.

Inside the South Street vaults, which were only uncovered in the 1980s and revealed a horrible life for the poorest individuals who would have lived there, is also Edinburgh’s City of the Dead.
“I just love that city, especially the wynds and closes off the Royal Mile,” he remarked.

“The city beneath the city, which we actually shot for Men in Kilts, didn’t make the cut, but Mary King’s Close, when they had the city and it’s still there, you can go, there’s streets beneath there and shops and everything.”

“It’s frightening. It really does look like something out of Harry Potter. And if you haven’t already, please go to Edinburgh.”

Heughan previously discussed going to Scotland’s capital as a teenager, describing it as a “whole new world” for him.

“After years of living in a quiet community, my mother, my brother, and I packed our belongings for what felt like a whole new world,” he wrote in his memoirs.

“After exchanging the stable and the castle ruins for a suburban street in Edinburgh, we began settling in for this new chapter in our lives.”

According to The Scottish Daily Express, Heughan admitted he didn’t feel ‘Scottish’ growing up and only acquired a love for his own country after he returned from living away in the United States and London to film Outlander in 2013.

Mary King’s Close, one of the city’s most haunted streets, is maybe the most famous area. The South Street Vaults also house Edinburgh’s renowned City of the Dead.
These were only unearthed in the 1980s, and they suggested a horrible existence for the poorest citizens who would have lived there. The vaults are also claimed to be home to the ‘South Street Entity,’ a malicious entity.

Sam walks viewers through a range of his favorite snacks in a new interview with First We Feast, with some Scots favorites tossed in for good measure.
Sam began by selecting popcorn with M&Ms mixed throughout, but rapidly recoiled when he realized how salty the popcorn was. He stated: “In the UK, we have sweet and salty.” “You can share them while you’re at the movies,” he added. You can get these little chocolate morsels.”
The second video shows the Scotsman breaking a Tunnock’s teacake with his fist, leaving a large chunk of gooey marshmallow on his hand. “You can crush it,” he urges the audience. It tastes great. As if you’re lying on a wonderfully soft bed. Marshmallow is soft. “Milk chocolate with a sweet taste.”
