Season 7 of Outlander is nearing its nail-biting midseason finale, and fans are buzzing with conjecture. The most recent episode left Jamie Fraser in a hazardous predicament on the battlefield, leaving more questions than answers.

Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie, has hinted at the character’s fate. However, as with all things Outlander, uncertainty reigns. Although many viewers expect Jamie to escape the Battle of Saratoga, Heughan’s comments hint at an unforeseen twist in the midseason finale.

The most recent episode of Outlander caught many off guard. As the episode concluded, Jamie Fraser (Heughan) was left sprawled on the battlefield. He was bloodied and appeared to be dead or unconscious.

The cliffhanger had viewers wondering whether Jamie would survive the encounter or be seriously hurt.

According to Express, Heughan spoke briefly about filming that dramatic sequence. The actor added that the combat was a thrilling experience for the cast and crew. He then teased something that does not seem well for Jamie’s future.

“The Battle of Saratoga is a big deal for everyone involved,” Heughan explained. “Yes, Jamie is an older man and well, let’s just say it doesn’t go too well for him.”

According to Heughan, Jamie will face an uphill battle if he survives. Fortunately, we should learn his destiny when Outlander returns for the midseason finale.

Those who have read Diana Gabaldon’s books may have an idea of Jamie’s fate. However, there is always the possibility that the showrunners will throw fans another curveball and not stick to the script.

How many marriages has Jamie Fraser had, as explained in Outlander?

A new trailer sheds light on Jamie’s fate following the Battle of Saratoga

The forthcoming episode’s teaser, aptly titled “Turning Points,” shows Claire Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe, desperately scanning the battlefield for her better half.

Her heart skips a beat when she sees a fallen soldier. Turning him over, Claire realizes it’s Jamie, and he’s not in good shape. If we believe what the producers have implied, Jamie’s fate may already be known. The official summary for the eighth episode states that Jamie will take part in the Second Battle of Saratoga.

However, because Heughan was unsure which Saratoga fight would be a stumbling block for Jamie, this could be the one. That could also imply that the first part of Season 7 will end on another cliffhanger.

Fans will have to wait and see what happens when Outlander returns with the midseason finale.

The ‘Outlander’ star hints at a father and son reunion in the midseason finale

As Outlander fans eagerly anticipate Jamie’s fate, Charles Vandervaart hinted at a probable meeting between Jamie and William.

According to Insider, Vandervaart hinted that a father-son showdown on the battlefield could be in the works. However, a confrontation between William and Jamie is far from straightforward”We’re definitely on opposite sides so it’s a bit of a complicated thing,” he went on to say.

Vandervaart noted that before the season began, William was a little naive, particularly about the reality of war. Although William is still unaware that Jamie is his father, the ferocity of the conflict will result in quick character development.

Given that William has previously encountered practically every Fraser since landing in North Carolina to join the British army, he would undoubtedly face Jamie.

He stumbled across Brianna (Sophie Skelton) in Wilmington, and Young Ian (John Bell) helped him when he became stuck in the Dismal Swamp. And don’t forget about the latest episode in which William released Claire after holding her prisoner.
