Nikki Haley, a past candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has stated that she intends to cast her vote for Donald Trump, her former rival and boss, in the presidential election of the United States in 2024.

At the beginning of March, Ms. Haley, who had previously held the position of United Nations ambassador for Mr. Trump, was the final of his major competitors to withdraw from the primary election for the party primary.

During that time, she did not provide her support to him, but she did encourage him to win the votes of the millions of people who had voted for her.
Following her withdrawal from the campaign, she made her first public statement on Wednesday, in which she stated that President Trump “has not been perfect,” while she referred to President Joe Biden as “a catastrophe.”

In the beginning of this year, anti-Trump Republican voters came together in favor of Ms. Haley’s presidential bid, and even now, more than two months after she declared her intention to withdraw from the race, her dormant candidacy is still gaining momentum.

In at least two of the state primary elections that took place during the previous two weeks, she received more than twenty percent of the vote.
The Biden team is making an effort to win over these Haley Republicans, who are a diverse group of independent voters who are moderate and have college degrees and who have the potential to flip the election in favor of the Democratic candidate. Vice President Biden contends that President Trump has “made it clear” on multiple occasions that he does not want those who supported her.

In addition to being irritated by her protracted primary battle, Mr. Trump recently dispelled rumors that she was being considered for the role of his vice presidential running partner. Mr. Trump has previously referred to his former cabinet member as a “bird brain.”

During her speech on Wednesday, which took place in front of a gathering at the Hudson Institute, a politically conservative think tank in Washington, District of Columbia, Ms. Haley reiterated the criticisms of both parties that she had made during her campaign.

On the other hand, she saved her most compelling remarks for the incumbent.
She claimed that Mr. Biden was responsible for a “debacle” in Afghanistan, that he “did nothing to deter the invasion” of Ukraine, and that he “threw Israel to the wolves” most recently.
“As a voter, I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border, who would support capitalism and freedom, who understands we need less debt not more debt,” she explained to reporters.

When it comes to these ideas, Trump has not been great, but Biden has been a complete and utter failure. Which means that I will be voting for Trump. Nevertheless, the former governor of South Carolina did not issue a call to action to her followers to follow suit.

Trump

The audience was told, “I stand by what I said in my suspension speech,” and she affirmed her position.
“Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they’re just going to be with him, and I genuinely hope he does that.”

She made the observation that the previous president has not made any kind of contact with her.
There is a growing likelihood that speculation will intensify on whether or if Ms. Haley will formally restore ties with Mr. Trump and endorse him.
In addition, the remarks made on Wednesday will increase the possibility of a Trump-Haley Republican ticket running for office in November. This would be a move that would be received with vehement condemnation from some of Trump’s supporters.

According to John Connors, a campaign consultant for the Republican Party, Ms. Haley is “clearly sending a signal” to Mr. Trump when she speaks to the BBC.
“This could be a signal from Haley to start talks to entertain a deal with Trump to join his ticket and get another look for VP,” he explained to reporters.
“It’s worth a look because it would open up more fund-raising avenues from major donors, who are sitting on the sidelines right now, and also pull more college-educated female voters and never-Trump voters back into the fold.”
