NFL suspends Patriots’ Mac Jones.

During Sunday’s Week 3 game at MetLife Stadium, New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was accused by New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner of taking a cheap shot below the belt. Several recordings of the purported incident are making the rounds on social media, but none of them provide conclusive evidence that Jones did what Gardner alleges.

However, this hasn’t stopped a number of NFL players, both past and present, from denouncing Jones and labeling him as a nasty player. Is it possible that Jones may face discipline from the league before Sunday’s Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys? The league is allegedly investigating the incident. Jones is “not expected” to receive a suspension, but a fine is a possibility, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network on Tuesday.

Gardner and the Jets will have another chance to exact revenge on Jones and the Patriots in the final week of the regular season, when New England plays New York at Gillette Stadium on Jan. 7.
