Regarding the possibility of the National Basketball Association (NBA) reviving the Dunk Contest and, in many respects, All-Star Weekend in general, there has been a lot of discussion. The Dunk Contest that took place this year was disheartening, and it seems that there are not many more opportunities to make some improvements.

The fact that Mac McClung is brilliant and has delivered yet another fantastic performance does not change the fact that there is not much that has been done before. Even though this is not a criticism of the dunkers, it is one of the various reasons why the sport has gotten less fascinating over time.
There is a lack of name recognition, which is another reason why many people are not interested in participating in the Dunk Contest. Even though there are not many superstars who are anticipated to perform well in a Dunk Contest, there are a few names that fans would want to see come up.

NBA Legend Supports Mac McClung Dunk Contest, Aaron Gordon, Zion Williamson, and Ja Morant

Lou Williams, a veteran of the National Basketball Association, provided his ideal Dunk Contest scenario in a recent episode of FanDuel’s Run it Back.
Williams made the proclamation, “I am going to bring this manifest.” “I want to see a healthy Zach LaVine back in it, I would like to see Aaron Gordon come back, Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, and Mac McClung.”

Even though Gordon announced that he would no longer be participating in the event several years ago, he and LaVine have most likely engaged in the most intense Dunk event war in the history of the tournament. It has been a long time since fans have had the desire to watch Morant and Williamson compete in the Dunk Contest, and McClung is the only player to have won the competition twice.
