The living country music superstar Randy Travis is going to be honored by his friends, fans, and fellow musicians, who are getting set to pay tribute to him.

The Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie will be the location of a Texas Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis, which will take place on Wednesday at seven o’clock.

The impending event was the topic of conversation between Travis and his wife Mary, who was recently interviewed by CBS News Texas.

“We’re going to have a kick-in-the-pants kind of time,” according to Mary. We are going to act as if someone has left the gate open all by themselves. Have a great time!”

As an additional point of interest, she mentioned that they desired to have the show in Texas because it is “where we live, that’s where we love. “There will be a big range of local and national performers who will showcase their talents by singing and covering Travis’ tunes.

Additionally, the performance will function as a benefit for The Randy Travis Foundation, despite the fact that it is being touted as a tribute to the legendary musician.

Having suffered a stroke in 2013, Travis was left with right-side paralysis of his body as well as aphasia as a result of the situation.

The majority of his foundation’s initiatives are geared around raising awareness of strokes.

“Fortunately, we have survived that, and we have a wonderful life and a wonderful opportunity to share with people what we have learned from the experience about strokes, stroke awareness [and] preventing strokes,” according to Mary.

One of the artists who will be performing at the performance is Paul Overstreet, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter who has been a close friend of Travis for his entire working life. Furthermore, he is a co-writer on a number of Travis’ successes, including “Forever and Ever Amen,” among others.

Overstreet has contributed to the writing of a number of Travis’s successes, including “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

“He recorded those songs and made them huge,” stated the musician. “So, he has provided us with a great deal. Upon receiving the invitation to perform for his organization, I was overjoyed to be asked to do so.

Those who are familiar with Travis claim that his mission to assist people through his music and foundation is being heard more clearly than ever before in this day and age, despite the fact that his singing voice may no longer be heard.

“Years ago, he said when he first started playing music, ‘I thought if I could touch one life then I have done my job,'” Mary recalled the event. “I told him, ‘You have done it a million times over.'”
