Allegations of Captain America’s return have been debunked by Chris Evans.
Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, has stated that he has not discussed the possibility of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as the Star-Spangled Avenger with any colleagues at Marvel.
By bringing back its most popular actors and the roles they established for Marvel Studios, Marvel Studios is reportedly hoping to restore the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to its former glory, according to rumors circulating in Hollywood.
Evans, on the other hand, has stated that these are nothing more than rumors that circulate on a regular basis, and he has not communicated with the executives at Marvel Corporation regarding the possibility of a comeback.
In an interview with The View, Evans was quoted as saying, “You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me.” The Wrap carried this information. “I believe that every couple of months, someone will announce that they are going to get Downey, Hemsworth, and Scarlet, and that absolutely everyone will be coming back. To my knowledge, no one has discussed it with me. I would never say never, but I truly am a very protective person. And look, I would never say never. He went on to say that because it is a very important function to me, it would have to be perfect in every way.

Evans’ portrayal of Captain America was shown for the last time in Avengers: Endgame, which marked the conclusion of the character’s traditional plot arc. It has been announced that Falcon actor Anthony Mackie would be playing the role of Captain America in the next film Captain America: Brave New World. However, the release date of the film has been pushed back to 2025 on account of the delay.
There is a book that was published that detailed Marvel’s internal troubles, such as rushed production, poor box office takings, and last-minute rewrites. This book is the source of all of these rumors. Adding insult to injury is the fact that actor Jonathan Majors, who has been promised the role of carrying out the next Marvel Cinematic Universe plot arc in the film Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, is currently facing legal issues. This role is now up in the air, and there are others who believe Marvel needs to revitalize the franchise. This is the reason why there is debate about the original Avengers actors returning to their roles.
The actor Chris Evans does not have a lot of information on whether or not he will be returning to the big screen as Captain America.
During an appearance on The View on Monday, the actor responded to a question regarding speculations that he may return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by saying, “I always see those reports.” “And I am not aware of this.”
Evans, who is 42 years old, stated that “every couple of months, someone says that they’re getting [Robert Downey Jr.], and [Chris] Hemsworth, and Scarlett Johansson, and everyone’s coming back.” However, he continued by saying, “No one has spoken to me about it.”
Over the course of eleven films, beginning with Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 and ending with Avengers: Endgame in 2019, the actor has portrayed Steve Rogers/Captain America, a fundamental member of the Avengers team. The character vanished through time travel in the latter film, which marked the conclusion of Evans’ career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Since Variety reported earlier this month that there were discussions to bring back Johansson as Black Widow or Downey Jr. as Iron Man, rumors have been circulating that they will be brought back. Both of these characters were killed off during the events of Endgame so that they might be brought back.
When asked about the possibility of recreating his most famous role, Evans responded, “Look, I would never say never.” He was speaking to the co-hosts of The View, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro.” On the other hand, I am a very protective person. To me, it is a really valuable position, and in order for it to happen, it would have to be perfect.
Having since acquired Steve’s iconic shield, Sam Wilson/The Falcon, who is portrayed by Anthony Mackie, will be the protagonist of Captain America: Brave New World, which is scheduled to be released in 2025. “Sam Wilson is Captain America,” Evans stated in a tweet from the previous year.
During his tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he remarked, “It was such a wonderful experience.” “It is something that I am absolutely delighted about… And if it seemed like a cash grab, if it didn’t live up to expectations, or if it just seemed like it wasn’t connected to that original thing, then I wouldn’t want the black eye of any kind. “There is no time soon,”
During the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo that took place in April, Evans stated that he was “certain” that there were further Steve Rogers stories to tell.
But, The Wrap adds he said at the time, “I just don’t want to mess up in any way, and I was a part of something that was so special for the special period of time and in a way it really landed so well… In spite of the fact that I feel a strong connection to that role and that I enjoy working with those individuals and delivering those tales, in the present moment, it does not feel quite right.
When Johansson was asked about the speculations on the Today show, she responded by saying that it “would be a miracle” for her character to return. Johansson’s most recent appearance as Black Widow was in the prequel that was released in 2021. Johansson, who is 39 years old, declared to Savannah Guthrie, “It would be a marvel.” “However, who can say!” With regard to the ‘Black Widow’ dispute, Scarlett Johansson has reached a settlement with Disney.
Evans provided his voice for the animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, as well as the films Ghosted and Pain Hustlers, all of which were released in 2018. Next, he will be seen in the film Red One, which also stars Dwayne Johnson.
Evans wed Alba Baptista, who is known for her role in the television show Warrior Nun, in a private ceremony on September 9 at an estate in his home state of Massachusetts. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter if you want to stay up to date with the latest People stories!
Due to the subpar response to Marvel‘s Phase 4, it was reported that the studio is considering reassembling the original six Avengers actors for a new film. Amongst those six is of course Chris Evans who played the titular role of Captain America, aka Steve Rogers.
With the recent rumor mill in full force, Evans appeared on The View, addressing the potential of his return. According to TheWrap, Evans suggested that the rumors are not impossible. While it seemed that Evans bid farewell to the role in 2019 when Steve Rogers’ story appeared to have ended with Avengers: Endgame, Evans is not closing the door on a return. He claims that he has not been contacted by the studio, though he has heard of the reports, “You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me. I think every couple months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, and Hemsworth, and Scarlet [Johansson], and everyone’s coming back!…[But] no one’s spoken to me about it. And look, I would never say never, but I really — I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right.”
The MCU has seemingly moved away from Evans, expanding the storyline for Anthony Mackie. While a special appearance from Evans could happen, it has not yet been announced or confirmed. Evans admits that he is worried about tarnishing his run from the role, “It’s tough, because look, I love that role deeply. He means so much to me, and I really do. I think there’s more Steve Rogers stories [to] tell, sure. But at the same time, I’m very, very precious with it…it’s like this little shiny thing that I have that I love so much, and I just don’t want to mess up in any way, and I was a part of something that was so special for the special period of time and in a way, it really landed so well.”
